Kurt Simmons' Poetry Page
Of late, I have taken to writing a lot of poems. Some silly, some creative, and some instructive. Some of these items show up in various other places on this site (recipes in food section), but I chose to link them all here too.

- World Peace
Five years since a poem last appeared here. Quite sad, but it is nice to get some verse out again. I've been passing these ladies with a peace sign in town. It stirs me, but never enough to write anything. Finally another post on another site triggered the revealing of this poem. This is only the second or third draft (first is just the thinking time) so I am sure the idea can be improved upon. Getting it down and out is the first step though.

- The Female Friend
By the Reverend Cornelius Wuhr, or so I recall. I found this in a book in the library, memorized it, and have not been able to find it again. Not in the library, not on the web. One day I hope to verify my memory, because it is such a lovely poem.
- Emi's Refigerator Poem
My friend Emi sent me a card from her refigerator that had this poem on it. The least I could do was to make her a copy of the poem that she could see whenever she desired.
- Your World
A masterpiece of inspiration from Georgia Douglas Johnson. I am grateful to Maya Angelou for turning me on to the wonders of African-American Poetry.
